On May 25th our little guy celebrated his six month day! We cannot believe that it has been half a year since we first met him, and we can honestly say that we didn’t realize how much our hearts were capable of growing in six months. The time seems to be flying by, but we are holding on tight to these precious days and trying to soak in every minute of having a baby. Perry’s personality is truly starting to shine, he is constantly smiling, laughing and trying to take in the world with his big, blue eyes. This month Perry started to eat solid foods, mastered sitting up on his own and is determined to teach himself to crawl. At his six month appointment he weighed 17 pounds and has grown six inches since his birthday!
For me, this month was extra special because I was able to celebrate my first mother’s day as a mom. It is hard for me to articulate how powerful this whole motherhood experience has been and continues to be for me; however, I will say that I have never felt more complete. Before Perry was born, I read a lot of books and quite a few people mentioned that becoming a mother is wonderful, but you lose a part of yourself to gain something more. I am not sure if I have lost part of my previous self; however, what I have gained is more than I ever expected. I expected the love I feel for Perry, but it is the increased love for all of those around me is what has taken me by surprise.
We hope you enjoy a small recap of a some of our favorite moments from Perry’s sixth month. Time is flying by and we are grateful for the chance to preserve our memories the best we can.
Happy monday everyone!
